Department of I Year is an important supporting wing to all engineering branches. The department consists of well experienced faculty members. The department puts concerted efforts to provide necessary guidance and a sense of directions to all the students of I Year B.Tech. It is the department of Basic Sciences, Life skills and faculty from CSE & Mechanical Engg. Specialization to impart I Year course work for 840 students every year. It consists of 4 sections of ECE, 2 sections of EEE, 4 sections of CSE, 2 sections of CIVIL and 2 sections of MECHANICAL with adequate facilities and sophisticated infrastructure, the department is completely well equipped to meet the contemporary needs of the industry. Well furnished labs with skilled and experienced lab assistants is one of the assets of the department.
A sound of knowledge of mathematics is considered a prerequisite for any Engineering professional to be successful in his chosen field. Physics and Chemistry are considered the basic sciences from which all Engineering branches have evolved. In today’s world of sophisticated technology, it is imperative for every literate especially for engineering professional to have an understanding of the environmental hazards leading to the development of eco- friendly technologies. Insights into modern management practices provide an edge for all engineering professionals in becoming successful entrepreneurs. Growing importance of English as a tool for global communication has placed a lot of emphasis on training the students in this area. Here students of all branches are exposed to language communication skills in English, Science like of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, computing Skills, Engineering Drawing, Environmental Sciences & Management science.
The Department of I year has well qualified, experienced and committed faculty members holding M.Sc,M.A,M.Com, M.tech, M.Phil & Ph.D Degrees. The students admitted into B.Tech. 1st year are of various levels of back ground. Some students are with a poor, socio economic back ground and others with moderate or rich background.
